Strikingly lovely Anna doll
This doll really captures the cute, sweet, awkward, and sheltered younger sister from Frozen. It is a beautiful representation of Princess Anna in the blue skirt that she purchases from Wandering Oaken's Trading Post (after ruining her coronation skirt by falling into a freezing stream while looking for her sister Elsa).

Although it does resemble Anna from the movie, it more closely resembles the Anna you see in all the illustrated children's books now available and also the Anna from Disney Infinity. This is available at the Disney store for the suggested retail price listed on the box (39.95). Still, you have to always factor in high shipping costs, which you can only get around on disney.com if you order $75 or more. I have Amazon Prime so enjoy free shipping.

PACKAGING

The doll comes very securely packaged in the box, with the braids attached to the dress by clear bands (so that they stay in front) and the skirt held back by a small plastic piece...

Very nice
I bought this today at a Disney Store for about $42 with tax. I like this doll much more than the Elsa one (though I have ordered that one, too, just had to get it from Amazon since it is out of stock at all the Disney Stores). Elsa looks pretty, but her dress isn't as nice as Anna's. The 12" Elsa doll has much more detail (I don't own it or plan on getting it, I just have seen it), but I prefer the 16" size. I plan to sew some dresses for them, so I was more concerned with the doll than the outfit.

Anna has a blue torso so her heart will light up blue when the motion sensor reacts, so the high collar of her shirt covers that well. The details on her face are very nice as are the ones on her outfit. The skirt has sparkles, some of which come off with handling (not profusely, but you get a few on your hands now and then).

I'm very glad they have an on-off switch. I was a bit worried since I'd seen reviews and it seemed like aside from taking her batteries...

My daughter loves it, but...

My 7-year old daughter loves her Frozen Anna doll, and she truly enjoys the song the doll sings. Unfortunately, she's about the only one in the house who does, and the lack of volume control is highly irritating because that doll is seriously loud. All I can say is that I would never pay so high a price for such an annoying doll. My daughter, who is reading this review over my shoulder, puffed out her cheeks in disapproval. So it's up to you to determine if the one outweighs the other. Caveat emptor.
